Give a specialist a job with an end point

A useful specialist has a defined outcome. For an inquiry, that could mean a clear record of the request, the missing details, and a proposed next message. The owner should be able to see what still needs a decision.

That is different from simply assigning a title to a general chatbot. The job needs an input, a way to handle uncertainty, and a boundary for actions that require the owner.

An example: a new inquiry

Imagine an inquiry specialist given an owner-approved request to prepare a site visit. The available materials are a customer message, the address already provided, and the owner calendar. The intended result is a proposed visit time or a clear question if availability is missing.

The owner would review any outgoing message or calendar change and check the outcome after approval. In this illustrative scenario, the job is complete when the owner can see the agreed next step and any remaining questions.

Make the handoff visible

A clear result separates what was found from what is proposed. If the address is missing, the result should ask for it. If the calendar shows a conflict, it should show the conflict rather than quietly selecting a different time.

For work involving another person or system, the owner needs to know what will be sent or changed. Approval, an attempted action, and a confirmed result should remain distinguishable.

  1. Describe the desired outcome.
  2. Identify the information and permissions the job would need.
  3. Define what happens if information is missing.
  4. Review the proposed action and its eventual status.

Explore the work

The general assistant works in the pre-production demo. You can use it to explore the conversation and the examples it contains.

Ask which specialist workflows and coordination options are available for the work you want to try.

Questions you may have

Are specialist agents already routing tasks between themselves?

Ask which specialist workflows are available and how work moves between them in the demo you can access.

Do I need to pick a specialist to try the general assistant?

The demo includes a general assistant in chat. Start by describing the work you need help with.

What should a good specialist take off my plate?

It should move a defined piece of work toward an observable result and make missing information or decisions clear. Look for a clear end point, the next action, and the decisions you still need to make.

Will a specialist contact customers without review?

In the example, the owner reviews an outgoing message or calendar change before it is used. Check what approval the workflow requires.

The demo uses sample business data and is in English. Access may need to be arranged.
