# Bring useful business information into the conversation

The information you need may already exist in the tools you use for messages, appointments, documents, customers, or accounts. A connection is useful when it makes the relevant information available for a job without asking you to repeat it by hand.
The pre-production demo uses six simulated source services for a fictional business. It illustrates the flow of company information; availability of a live connection for your account needs separate confirmation.

## Start with the question you need answered

Before choosing a connection, name the work it should support. A question about a customer appointment may need the calendar and the relevant customer conversation; a question about a payment needs a different set of records.

The right scope is the information needed for that purpose. More sources do not make an answer better if the records are out of date, inaccessible, or unrelated to the question.

## Check access, coverage, and freshness

A useful connection needs permission to the appropriate account and records, a way to bring in the information required for the job, and a clear indication of what was last available. Ask who can grant access and what happens when the source changes.

The demo uses a company data layer and a graph that indexes metadata. Selected record text can be read when needed. Check which attachments, record types, and historical items are available for the question.

1. Name the question or workflow.
2. List the source and record types needed to answer it.
3. Confirm the connection, access scope, and freshness for your account.
4. Compare a sample answer with its original source.

## An example: a customer asks about a visit

A fictional customer asks whether a site visit was moved. The owner has an original appointment and a later customer message saying that Tuesday is no longer possible. A useful answer would distinguish the old booking from a confirmed replacement time.

If a replacement appointment cannot be found in the available records, the owner can ask for confirmation and record the agreed time. That gives the customer a dependable answer.

## What to establish before using live data

The simulated demo is useful for seeing how a source-backed question can work. Before relying on a connection for your own company, confirm the provider, account permissions, supported records, update behavior, and how you can inspect the original information.

Also clarify what happens if a connection is unavailable or a record is missing. A responsible answer can say that the necessary information is not currently available.

## Questions you may have

### Does the demo connect to my live accounts?

The described demo uses simulated services and fictional company data. Access to a particular live account and the records available from it need to be confirmed separately.

### Are all providers in a connector catalog ready to use?

A catalog entry is not the same as an accepted live integration. Ask for the current status of the specific provider and workflow you need.

### Will a connection import the full content of every file?

Do not assume that. The graph indexes metadata and record text can be read selectively; that is not the same as complete analysis of all attachments.

### What if the information is missing or old?

Check the source, its access scope, and when the information was last available. Until the gap is resolved, treat the answer as incomplete rather than inventing the missing detail.
